Oh snow!

As you are all aware we will be experiencing some snow today and over the weekend and urge everyone to take care when out and about. The forecast looks like this:

Friday

Snow is expected to arrive in West Sussex between 0700 and 0800hrs Friday morning this will be accompanied by a strong S/SE wind and each area is expected to experience approximately 6hrs of snow as it moves across the county. An estimated depth of 5-10cms is expected but this may increase in some areas with drifting caused by strengthening winds. Coastal areas could see a form of wet snow that may lead to the rapid formation of ice, especially on power lines.

Saturday

More light and patchy snow showers but not expected to add to the overall depth, poor visibility and very cloudy conditions overnight. Icy conditions due to freezing wet snow

Temperatures are expected to remain the same for the weekend but will warm slightly by Monday/Tuesday where will may well see some thaw in the icy conditions.
