Role and Responsibilities

As a Live-in Care Assitant, you will be supporting our clients to live an independent life in their own homes by providing care from 7am to 9pm (with a 2 hour break each day), 7 days a week. You will be providing help with day-to-day tasks that may include:

  • Personal care (showering/bathing, dressing, continence care etc.)
  • Domestic tasks (laundry, hoovering, washing up, general tidying etc.)
  • Cooking or preparing meals
  • Shopping
  • Medication
  • Companionship

Due to the complexity of the live-in role, you must have had experience of working in a professional care role previously for at least six months. This could be working in a residential care home or hospital, providing domiciliary care or having done live-in work before.

How we support Live-in Care Assistants

We provide a comprehensive induction training programme before you start your role with us, which covers all mandatory training and a refresher on the practical skills required. We are also able to offer fully funded Health & Social Care Diplomas for anyone wishing to progress further or enhance their skill set.

You will have access to the client’s Care Plan via an app that is downloaded onto your phone, and you will make notes throughout the day. We believe that consistency between client and carer is key, so for this reason we will always try to place you with the same client after you return from a break.
