As a Waking Night Care Assistant, you will be working a night shift where you will need to be awake throughout the night to support a client living in their own home. We have full-time, part-time and bank shifts available 7 days a week.
Shift: Hours can vary but usually 9.30pm-7am (£128.25/shift)
As a Waking Night Care Assistant, you will be supporting an individual client to live an independent life in their own home by providing care throughout the night.
These tasks may include:
Personal care (showering/bathing, dressing, continence care etc.)
Domestic tasks (laundry, washing up, general tidying etc.)
Cooking or preparing meals/light snacks
Medication
Companionship
Due to the complexity of the waking night role, you must have had experience of working in a professional care role previously for at least six months. This could be working in a residential care home or hospital or providing domiciliary care.
How we support Waking Night Care Assistants
When you join the Private Care Company as a Waking Night Care Assistant you will be required to complete a comprehensive induction training programme before you start your role with us. This Programme is designed to cover all mandatory training and provides a refresher on the practical skills required. For those wishing to progress further or enhance their skill set, we also offer fully funded Health & Social Care Diplomas.
As part of your role you will be given access to the client’s Care Plan. This is via an app that you will download to your phone. You will also use this app to make notes on your work throughout the night. We believe that consistency between client and carer is key, so for this reason we will always try to place you with the same client each shift.
