We are committed to employing and retaining the right people and take great care in our recruitment process. We hold our caregivers in the highest regard – just like our clients – because we understand how closely the two are interwoven.
We are able to skilfully match our carers to the specific needs and personalities of our clients because we take time to understand their unique requirements.
Our selection process
We have exceptionally high standards when it comes to selection and recruitment of our carers. Our screening includes an enhanced level DBS check, a thorough reference and background search and a rigorous personal interview.
We also look beyond the CV to judge prospective employees as caring individuals and these candidates are chosen for their kindness, compassion, commitment, motivation and practical ability to cope under pressure.
Plus, we don’t use agencies. The entire care management process is handled by us. This enables you or your loved one to focus on enjoying an independent life, whilst we focus on providing award-winning care.
Training and continuing education
Our carers attend a five-day induction programme as well as our comprehensive 12-week orientation which includes training in manual handling, emergency first aid, health and safety, administration of medicines, dementia, infection control and other role-related training.
We fund the Health and Social Care Diplomas and work alongside Brighton City College who deliver the course for our caregivers. We also provide mandatory yearly refresher training as well as close monitoring of care staff.
